Refrigerator Production Line Description—Fridge Production Conveyor Line

fridge production line

Refrigerators consist of a cabinet with foam insulation, a refrigeration system (compressor, condenser, capillary tube, evaporator) and an electrical control system.

A Fridge/Refrigerator Production Line includes parts processing, cabinet/door foaming, general assembly, vacuuming, refrigerant charging, performance testing and automatic packaging. For household refrigerators, a flexible assembly line with a 15–30s cycle is suitable. Small-scale lines rely more on labor, while large-scale ones use robots, AGVs and MES for high efficiency and quality control.

Fridge Assembly Lines/Production Lines are Suitable to Assemble/Produce Fridges or freezers. (If clients have more requirements or want to produce the other fridges or freezers, welcome to contact us.)

Refrigerator Structure Description, Images & Suitable Refrigerator Production Line Description

1. Refrigerator Structure Description

A household refrigerator mainly consists of three core parts: cabinet structure, refrigeration system, and electrical control system.

(1) Cabinet Structure (Outer Case & Inner Liner)

  • Outer case: Formed by cold-rolled steel sheet / galvanized steel sheet through stamping, bending and spraying, providing protection and structural support.
  • Inner liner: Made of HIPS or ABS plastic via vacuum forming, featuring smooth surface and corrosion resistance.
  • Insulation layer: Polyurethane foam filled between the outer case and inner liner for high-efficiency thermal insulation.
  • Door assembly: Includes door shell, door liner, foam layer, and magnetic door gasket.

(2) Core Refrigeration System (Four Major Components)

  • Compressor: Mounted at the bottom rear, acting as the “heart” to drive refrigerant circulation.
  • Condenser: Installed on both sides, bottom or back, to dissipate heat and liquefy refrigerant.
  • Capillary tube: Thin copper tube for throttling and pressure reduction.
  • Evaporator: Located in the freezer compartment or air duct, absorbing heat for cooling (direct cooling / fan cooling).
Compressor

(3) Electrical Control System

Includes thermostat / main control board, sensors, compressor starter, overload protector, fan motor, lighting system and defrosting system.

2. Refrigerator Production Line (Complete Process)

Modern refrigerator production lines adopt automatic flexible assembly lines with a cycle time of about 15–30 seconds per unit.

(1) Parts Processing Line

  • Sheet metal line: Steel sheet → uncoiling → cutting → stamping → bending → welding → outer case forming.
  • Vacuum / injection molding line: Vacuum forming or injection molding of inner liners, door liners, drawers and decorative panels.
  • Refrigeration parts: Pre-fabrication and welding of compressors, condensers, evaporators and pipelines.

(2) Cabinet & Door Pre-assembly Line

  • Cabinet pre-assembly: Outer case → inner liner → pipeline laying → high-pressure foaming (insulation layer).
  • Door pre-assembly: Door shell → door liner → foaming → installation of door gasket, hinges and handles.

(3) General Assembly Line (Core)

Cabinet conveying → compressor installation → refrigeration pipeline connection → electrical wiring → door installation → vacuum pumping → refrigerant charging.

(4) Testing Line (Quality Control)

Tests for cooling performance, power consumption, noise, air tightness, electrical safety, temperature control and defrosting function.

(5) Packaging & Warehousing

Labeling → film wrapping → boxing → palletizing → AGV warehousing.

3. Selection Criteria for Suitable Production Lines

  • Capacity scale (can be customized according to clients’ capacity)
    • Small-scale: Plate / roller conveyor line, 50–100 units per day, mainly manual operation.
    • Medium-scale: Accumulating roller conveyor with partial robots, 300–800 units per day.
    • Large-scale: Fully automatic flexible line (5G + MES + AGV), over 1000 units per day.
  • Product type
    • Household direct-cooling / frost-free refrigerators: Standard assembly line + foaming line + refrigerant charging line.
    • Commercial / deep freezers: Heavy-duty conveyor line + large-volume foaming moulds.
  • Automation levelRecommended: Automation for cabinet foaming, vacuum pumping, refrigerant charging, testing and packaging; human-machine cooperation for general assembly.
  • Digital upgradingEquipped with MES, 5G data collection, quality traceability and intelligent scheduling to ensure stable quality and improve efficiency.
