Introduction to LCD TV Structure and Suitable TV Assembly Lines

LCD TV consists of LCD panel, LED backlight module, circuit system including main board, power board and TCON board, structural frames, speakers and interface components.
Its assembly requires dust-proof, anti-static and high-precision positioning. Three matching production lines are available: semi-automatic line for small output, medium automatic line for mass production, and intelligent unmanned line for large-size high-end TVs, covering different daily capacity and screen size demands.

1. Structure of LCD TV
LCD TV is composed of four major systems: LCD panel, backlight module, circuit system and structural components, with five core modules in total.
1.1 LCD Panel (Display Core)
Composition: Upper and lower glass substrates, liquid crystal layer, color filter sheet, polarizer, TFT thin-film transistor array.
Working Principle: The electric field controls the torsion of liquid crystal molecules to adjust the transmittance of backlight, so as to form RGB color images.
Layer structure (from back to front): Backlight source → Light guide plate → Diffusion film → Brightness enhancement film → Polarizer → Liquid crystal layer → Color filter → Front polarizer → Protective glass.
1.2 Backlight Module (Light Source, Indispensable for LCD)
Types: Edge-lit LED (mainstream & ultra-thin) / Direct-lit LED (local dimming & high picture quality) / Mini-LED (high partition density)
Composition: LED light bar, light guide plate, diffusion plate, optical film (brightness enhancement & uniform light), reflector plate.
1.3 Circuit System (Signal and Control)
- Main Board: The core control unit, integrated with CPU, decoding chip, HDMI/USB/Ethernet port, responsible for processing image, audio and system signals.
- Power Board: Converts 90–240V AC into 12V/5V/24V DC for power supply of the whole set and backlight, equipped with voltage stabilization and protection circuit.
- TCON Board: Receives signals from the main board, completes time sequence control and panel row & column electrode driving, and outputs pixel driving voltage.
- Inverter Board: Applied to traditional CCFL models, converts low voltage into high voltage AC to drive lamp tubes; integrated into power board for LED TVs.
- Auxiliary small boards: Infrared receiving board, key board, TV tuner, AV board, power amplifier board.

1.4 Structural Components (Whole Machine Framework)
- Front bezel: Fix the panel and decorate appearance.
- Middle frame (metal/plastic): Connect panel and rear shell to improve overall structural rigidity.
- Rear shell (back plate): Metal type with good heat dissipation or plastic type; for circuit protection, electromagnetic shielding, and reserved installation for wall mounting and base.
- Base / Wall bracket: For desktop placement or wall mounting.
1.5 Acoustic and Interface Components
- Speaker (2–4 pieces) & sound cavity: Audio output.
- Interface board: Integrated with HDMI 2.1, USB 3.0, network port, AV, RF, optical fiber and other interfaces.
2. Suitable TV Assembly Line Introduction
LCD TV assembly core requirements: Dust-free for panel assembly, precision alignment (±0.1mm), anti-static, modularization and high efficiency.

2.1 Small-Scale Production Line
Daily output: 500–1000 units, suitable for small and medium factories and mixed production of multiple models.
Configuration: Manual + semi-automatic tooling + belt/roller conveyor line, with automatic operation at key stations.
Process Flow
- Structural parts feeding → Front/middle frame positioning
- Backlight module assembly → Lamination of light guide plate and film (dust-free workbench)
- Panel fitting (semi-automatic vacuum suction cup, positioning accuracy ±0.5mm) → Glue dispensing and curing
- Circuit assembly & screw locking → Installation of main board/power board/TCON board, plug-in of screen line and power line
- Functional test: Power on, picture quality, sound, interface, remote control and key test
- Aging test (4-hour normal temperature aging) → Appearance inspection → Packaging and warehousing
Features: Low investment, strong flexibility and fast model change; high dependence on labor with average consistency; applicable to 32–55 inch small and medium-sized TVs.
2.2 Medium-Scale Automatic Assembly Line
Daily output: 1000–3000 units, mainstream for large manufacturers and mass production of single model.
Configuration: Full-automatic roller line + multi-joint robot (panel handling & screw locking) + vision positioning + Class 10,000 dust-free workshop.
Core Automatic Stations
- Panel loading & flipping: Vacuum suction robot, positioning accuracy ±0.1mm, scratch and breakage prevention.
- Backlight fitting: Vision-guided automatic precise positioning, full-automatic OCA lamination, pressure and heat curing.
- Automatic screw locking: Multi-axis screw machine with torque control, preventing missing locking and thread slipping.
- Automatic functional test: One-click full-item test, data synchronized to MES system.
Features: Automation rate 70%–80%, reduced labor and improved efficiency; product yield ≥99.5%; suitable for 55–75 inch mainstream TVs.

2.3 Large-Scale Intelligent Unmanned Production Line
Daily output: More than 3000 units, for high-end large-size TVs of top brands.
Configuration: Full automation + AGV logistics + AI vision + digital twin + Class 1000 dust-free workshop, minimally manned or unmanned production.

3. Assembly Line Selection Suggestion

- Output: Daily output <1000 sets → Semi-automatic line; 1000–3000 sets → Medium automatic line; >3000 sets → Intelligent unmanned line
- Key Process: Panel assembly requires dust-free environment and precise alignment; screw locking needs torque control; full coverage of functional and aging test is required.
